Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED)

Students who are interested are invited to apply for the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program, an educational cooperation initiative of the Government of Canada in the Indo-Pacific region. The program provides opportunities for students from ASEAN countries, the Pacific region, and Mongolia to participate in short-term study or research at higher education institutions in Canada.

Scholarship Duration

  • Undergraduate level: 4–8 months
  • Graduate level: 4–6 months (for short-term study or research)

Scholarship Benefits
Selected candidates will receive financial support covering the following expenses:

  • Visa application fees
  • Round-trip economy class airfare
  • Health insurance
  • Living allowance covering accommodation and meals
  • Local transportation within Canada
  • Learning materials and research-related expenses

Required Application Documents
Applicants must prepare the following documents:

  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Signed Privacy Notice Statement for non-Canadian participants
  • Letter of Intent from the candidate
  • Letter of proof of full-time enrolment from the home institution
  • Letter of support from the home institution
  • Letter of invitation from the Canadian supervisor (for graduate students only)

Application Process
Applicants must coordinate with a host institution in Canada, as the host institution will be responsible for submitting the application on behalf of the applicant through the My EduCanada online system.

The application must be submitted through the system by 24 March 2026.
