Call for Applications: Exchange Student Program at National Ilan University (NIU), Taiwan

Chiang Mai University is pleased to announce the call for applications for the National Ilan University Exchange Student Program for the Fall Semester 2026 (September 2026 – January 2027) at National Ilan University (NIU), Republic of China (Taiwan).

This program offers students the opportunity to study abroad and experience cultural exchange in Taiwan. Participants may enroll in courses offered across four main colleges:

• College of Bioresources
• College of Engineering
• College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
• College of Humanities and Management

Examples of available fields of study include Civil Engineering, Food Science, Foreign Languages and Literature, and Applied Economics and Management.

Applicant Qualifications and Language Requirements

Applicants must be current students of Chiang Mai University and be officially nominated by their home faculty/department. Language proficiency requirements are as follows:

Undergraduate Level

• TOCFL Level A2, or
• HSK Level 4, or
• Other equivalent language proficiency test scores

Graduate Level

• TOEIC 550, or
• IELTS 4.0, or
• Other equivalent language proficiency test scores
• Note: The International Business Communication program requires a minimum TOEIC score of 750.

Benefits and Expenses

Selected students will receive a tuition fee waiver at NIU for the duration of the program. However, other expenses such as accommodation, travel costs, living expenses, and health insurance must be covered by the students.

Required Application Documents

Interested applicants are requested to prepare the following documents:

1. Application Form (with a 2-inch photograph attached)
2. Study Plan (approximately 300 words)
3. Official Academic Transcript and Certificate of Enrollment
4. Health Certificate (including measles/rubella vaccination record and Chest X-ray result)
5. Copy of Passport
6. Recommended List from Home University
