On Thursday, 20 August 2026, from 12.45 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organised a special lecture programme entitled “Digital Trust Academy: PDPA & Cyber Security Awareness 2026”under the theme “Building Awareness, Strengthening Security, Creating Trust in the Digital Organisation” at the Rit Sirimat Lifelong Learning Centre.
The programme aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (PDPA) and appropriate legal compliance practices, while also strengthening Cyber Security Awareness and preparedness against cyber threats arising from day-to-day operations and the use of information technology.
The initiative also encouraged staff to apply knowledge of personal data protection and cyber security to their professional responsibilities, teaching, research, and service delivery. In addition, it supported the Faculty’s internal control, risk management, and data governance processes by helping to reduce risks related to personal data breaches and cyber threats.
By promoting a culture of personal data protection and information security, the programme contributes to strengthening organisational resilience and building Digital Trust across the Faculty.
