The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, proudly congratulates the University's student team on winning First Runner-Up at the ASEAN ESG Challenge 2026 (Thailand National Qualifier), organised by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand (SEC) in collaboration with the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Held online on 27 July 2026, with the official results announced on 6 August 2026, the competition aims to promote knowledge and awareness of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and the role of capital markets in advancing sustainable development. The event challenged students to analyse business cases and propose strategic solutions that balance economic, social, and environmental considerations.
The Chiang Mai University team comprised four students from the Faculty of Business Administration and one student from the Faculty of Economics:
By integrating expertise in economics, finance, business administration, and accounting, the team developed innovative and well-rounded solutions to complex ESG-related business challenges, earning national recognition for their outstanding performance.
This achievement reflects Chiang Mai University's commitment to interdisciplinary learning and the development of graduates equipped with the analytical skills, sustainability mindset, and leadership required to address future global challenges.
