On Thursday, 24 July 2026, from 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, through its Interest Group – Artificial Intelligence (AI), organised the second Econ CMU Next-Gen Work workshop under the theme “Applying Typhoon LLM to Enhance Work in Economics” at Room ECB 3308, Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University.
The workshop featured Mr Saksorn Rueangthanusak from SCBX Public Company Limited as the guest speaker. Participants gained practical insights into the application of Typhoon LLM, an advanced large language model designed to support both Thai and English, for academic, administrative, and organisational tasks. The session demonstrated how AI technologies can improve productivity, support data analysis, enhance communication, and streamline routine workflows within higher education.
The workshop forms part of the Faculty's strategic initiative to strengthen AI literacy and digital capabilities among academic and professional staff. It aims to promote practical AI adoption, reduce repetitive processes, and encourage innovation in teaching, administration, and organisational management, supporting the Faculty's vision of becoming a data-driven organisation.
Through initiatives such as Econ CMU Next-Gen Work, the Faculty of Economics continues to empower its staff with future-ready digital competencies while fostering an innovative organisational culture capable of responding effectively to the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
