Faculty of Economics, CMU Welcomes New Students through “Hong Khwan Nong Mai and ECON 69 Bonding Programme”, Promoting Sustainability and Academic Integrity

On Saturday, 13 June 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University organised the “Hong Khwan Nong Mai and ECON 69 Bonding Programme” at the Phasuk Lifelong Learning Hall to warmly welcome new undergraduate students for the 2026 Academic Year and foster meaningful relationships among students, lecturers, staff, and senior students.

The morning programme began with a traditional Lanna Bai Sri Su Kwan Ceremony, led by Ajarn Sanan Thammathi, symbolising blessings, encouragement, and a warm welcome for the new students. Assoc. Prof. Rossarin Osathanunkul, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Economics, delivered a welcome address, congratulating the new students and sharing the Faculty's vision, together with guidance on university life. She encouraged students to uphold integrity, ethical values, responsibility, and active citizenship throughout their academic journey.

During the event, the Faculty also introduced its ECON Go Green initiative, which promotes responsible resource consumption, waste reduction, recycling, and environmentally friendly practices. The initiative reflects the Faculty's commitment to sustainable development and aligns with Chiang Mai University's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In addition, students were introduced to the Faculty's policies on academic integrity and its firm stance against all forms of examination misconduct. The Faculty encouraged students to embrace honesty, accountability, and respect for academic regulations, fostering a transparent, fair, and ethical learning environment founded on the principles of good governance.

The Hong Khwan Nong Mai and ECON 69 Bonding Programme reflects the Faculty's commitment to nurturing graduates who possess not only academic excellence but also strong ethical values, environmental responsibility, and social awareness, empowering them to become future leaders capable of contributing positively to society.
