Faculty of Economics, CCMU and Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce Strengthen Collaboration on SDGs Monitoring & Evaluation Platform

On 12 June 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, led by Mattana Wongsirikajorn, Ph.D., Assistant Dean, participated in a collaborative meeting with the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce to discuss the development of an SDGs Monitoring & Evaluation Platform. The meeting was held at Meeting Room 2, 3rd Floor, Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce Office.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Kobkit Issarachiwawat, Chairman of the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, together with Mr Pallop Saejiw, Vice Chairman. Participants exchanged ideas and explored collaborative approaches to developing a monitoring and evaluation system for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the aim of strengthening sustainable development efforts at both organisational and regional levels.

The discussion focused on fostering collaboration between the higher education sector and the business community to develop practical digital tools, integrated databases, and information systems capable of monitoring, analysing, and evaluating sustainability performance. The platform is expected to support evidence-based planning, informed decision-making, and more effective sustainability management.

This collaboration marks another significant step towards building a strong partnership between academia and the private sector, reinforcing Chiang Mai's commitment to sustainable economic, social, and environmental development while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals at both national and global levels.
