Parents’ Meeting for New Undergraduate Students, Academic Year 2026

On Friday, 12 June 2026, from 1.00–4.30 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organised the Parents’ Meeting for New Undergraduate Students, Academic Year 2026. The event aimed to foster mutual understanding between the Faculty and parents regarding academic management, student support systems, and the wide range of developmental activities available to students throughout their studies. The meeting was held at the Lifelong Learning for Well-being Conference Room and was also broadcast live via online electronic platforms.

The meeting was honoured by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Rossarin Osathanunkul, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Economics, who warmly welcomed parents and provided an overview of the Faculty’s administrative structure, vision, mission, and role in producing high-quality graduates who possess strong ethical values and a sense of social responsibility.

The programme continued with the introduction of the academic staff serving as first-year academic advisors. These advisors play a vital role in providing guidance, academic support, and close mentorship to students throughout their transition into university life.

Asst. Prof. Tatcha Sudtasan, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, then presented key information regarding the Faculty’s academic programmes, including curriculum structure, learning approaches, and assessment methods, to help prepare students for success in the digital economy era.

This was followed by a presentation from Saowaluk Duangin, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Student Quality Development, who outlined the Faculty’s scholarship opportunities, student welfare services, and various student development programmes designed to enhance academic achievement, life skills, and ethical values.

The meeting also featured an introduction to the 2026 Executive Committee of the Economics Student Club by the Student Club President, who presented an overview of activities organised for new students. These activities are designed to create a warm and welcoming environment while fostering friendship, unity, and a strong sense of belonging within the Faculty community.

Towards the end of the session, parents were invited to raise questions and engage in discussions directly with academic advisors. This provided an opportunity for both parties to collaborate in establishing effective and systematic approaches to supporting students throughout their studies at the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University.

The event reflected the Faculty of Economics’ commitment to working closely with parents in supporting and nurturing students’ holistic development. It also demonstrated the Faculty’s dedication to laying a strong foundation for students’ academic success, personal growth, and well-being, ensuring a fulfilling and enriching university experience.
