Faculty of Economics, CMU Organises “Tools for Better Work” Workshop to Strengthen Process Improvement Skills through SIPOC
On 11 June 2026, from 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, through its Operational Effectiveness (OE) Group, organised the second session of the Tools for Better Work workshop entitled “Business Process Analysis and Improvement with SIPOC and BPMN”, focusing on “Business Process Analysis and Improvement Using SIPOC”. The workshop was held at Room ECB3308, Building 3, and was attended by both academic and professional support staff.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants' knowledge and practical skills in analysing and improving organisational processes through the application of SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer), a widely recognised process improvement tool. Participants learned how to map end-to-end workflows, identify key stakeholders, analyse process inputs and outputs, and recognise opportunities for continuous improvement.
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in practical exercises and collaborative discussions based on real workplace scenarios. These activities encouraged systems thinking, enabling staff to analyse operational challenges comprehensively, design effective process improvements, and apply practical solutions to enhance service quality and organisational performance.
The programme forms part of the Faculty's ongoing Operational Excellence initiative, which seeks to strengthen staff capabilities through modern management tools and continuous improvement practices. By fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and organisational learning, the Faculty continues to advance towards becoming a high-performing and sustainable learning organisation.
