The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Rossarin Osathanunkul, Dean of the Faculty, together with administrators, staff, and students, participated in the Traditional Songkran Water-Pouring Ceremony Honoring Former University Presidents, the President, and Senior Faculty Members of Chiang Mai University as part of the University’s Songkran Festival 2026 celebrations.
The ceremony was held on 24 April 2026 at the Chiang Mai University Convention Hall. On this occasion, Professor Emeritus Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Chiang Mai University Council, delivered a blessing message, while Professor Dr. Pongrak Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University, expressed appreciation and extended Songkran greetings to the distinguished guests and participants.
The event was organized to pay respect to senior scholars and university leaders while preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Lanna. It also provided an opportunity for the university community to participate in the continuation of these valuable customs for future generations.
In addition, awards were presented for the Traditional Water-Pouring Offering Arrangement Competition and the Lanna Ethnic Traditional Costume Competition. The Faculty of Economics received the following awards:
