Economics CMU Student Wins First Runner-Up Award

The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, has once again demonstrated its academic excellence as its students received several awards at the Chiang Mai University Outstanding Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) Awards 2026. The achievements reflect the Faculty’s commitment to integrating academic knowledge with practical workplace experience, enabling students to develop both professional competencies and real-world problem-solving skills.

In the Social Sciences and Humanities category, Ms. Dolaya Jaimakaew (Student ID 651610146) received the First Runner-Up Award along with a Gold-Level Certificate for her project entitled “Readiness for Digital Business Transformation among SMEs in Chiang Mai Province.” The project was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Napat Hanpornchai.

Meanwhile, Ms. Methaporn Hiransupachot (Student ID 641610384) was awarded the Second Runner-Up Award and a Silver-Level Certificate for her research project “Digital Transformation and Its Impact on Environmental Emissions in European Union (EU) Member States.” Her academic advisor was Assistant Professor Dr. Worawat Saijai.

The Faculty also received two additional Silver-Level Certificates in the Social Sciences and Humanities category. Ms. Patcharaporn Hanharuthayodom (Student ID 651610290) was recognized for her project “A Study of Challenges and Strategic Recommendations for Enhancing User Engagement on Crowdster,” under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Chatchai Khiowngamdee. In addition, Ms. Thamonrat Attasitthiporn (Student ID 641610561) received a Silver-Level Certificate for her project “The China–United States Trade War and the Role of the U.S. Dollar: A Foresight Scenario Analysis,” supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Pakpoom Saengkanokkul.

In the Science and Technology category, Ms. Kanok-on Suttakul received a Silver-Level Certificate for her project “Development of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System for Accounting, Budgeting, and Financial Management through the Design of an Interface Supporting Accounts Receivable Data Migration from Legacy Systems.” The project was supervised by Dr. Jirapa Inthasaeng Thojim.

These accomplishments highlight the quality of teaching and learning at the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, which emphasizes the integration of economic knowledge with practical work experience. Through CWIE, students are equipped with the skills, competencies, and professional readiness necessary to become future graduates capable of contributing to sustainable economic and social development.
