On 11 March 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized the training program “Academic Leadership & Soft Skills for Economists” at Room ECB 3202, Chuchart Petch-ampai Center of Excellence in Economics Building. The program aimed to enhance the capabilities of academic staff by strengthening their understanding of the roles and responsibilities associated with academic leadership while developing essential skills required in today’s evolving academic environment.
The training focused on empowering academic personnel to communicate effectively and collaborate successfully with colleagues, research teams, and relevant academic networks. Participants were encouraged to develop critical competencies in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, particularly in the context of managing complex academic and research-related projects.
In addition, the program provided practical knowledge and skills in the systematic management of research and academic service projects, enabling participants to improve project effectiveness and achieve desired outcomes more efficiently. The training also emphasized the development of key leadership and soft skills, including teamwork, conflict management, adaptability, and professional responsibility.
Through this initiative, the Faculty of Economics reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the professional competencies of its academic staff and fostering a culture of continuous learning. By enhancing both leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills, the Faculty seeks to support academic excellence and contribute to the sustainable development of the organization and the wider academic community.
