On 11 February 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized the Social Value Professional Program with the objective of enhancing the professional capabilities of its personnel in the field of social impact assessment using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) framework.
The training program was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to apply SROI principles in the design, analysis, and evaluation of university projects and initiatives. Through this capacity-building effort, participants gained a deeper understanding of social value measurement and the importance of assessing the broader impacts generated by academic, research, and community engagement activities.
This initiative represents an important step in the Faculty’s strategic effort to establish a strong foundation for the development of Chiang Mai University’s SROI Assessment Team, with academic leadership and support provided by the Faculty of Economics. The program aims to strengthen institutional capabilities in social impact evaluation and contribute to evidence-based decision-making that supports the University’s long-term sustainability goals.
The training also focused on developing participants’ competencies in accordance with the professional standards of the Social Value Associate Level 1 certification framework. In addition to enhancing technical expertise, the program serves as a preparatory pathway for personnel aspiring to become qualified social impact assessors and verification professionals, ultimately supporting the establishment of a dedicated SROI assessment team within Chiang Mai University.
Through this initiative, the Faculty of Economics reaffirms its commitment to advancing professional excellence, promoting social value measurement, and supporting the University’s mission to generate meaningful and sustainable impacts for society.
