On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized its Academic Seminar for the Academic Year 2025 at the Yi Peng Grand Ballroom, 2nd Floor, Meliá Chiang Mai Hotel, Chiang Mai Province. The seminar was attended by faculty members and academic staff, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and jointly determining the Faculty’s strategic directions across various areas.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Rossarin Osathanunkul, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, presided over the opening ceremony. She emphasized the importance of integrating academic operations, curriculum development, and the enhancement of teaching and learning quality in alignment with the rapidly changing social context and current labor market demands.
The session on academic operations was led by Asst. Prof. Dr.Tatcha Sudtasan, Associate Dean. Key issues were reviewed and discussed, including teaching workload and overtime teaching compensation for the Academic Year 2025; teaching workload and thesis supervision outside the Faculty for the Academic Year 2026; the engagement of special lecturers exceeding 50 percent; progress on new curriculum development, the 3+1+1 program, and integrated curricula; as well as a summary of internal quality assurance assessment results at the program level for the Academic Year 2024.
In addition, reports were presented on academic performance statistics in fundamental courses—MATH, STAT, ENG, and ECON 101—along with the results of the English proficiency test for first-year students (CMU-ePro) for the Academic Year 2025. These data will serve as key inputs for improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning management.
The discussion on student quality development was conducted by Dr.Saowaluk Duangin, Assistant Dean, while the session on human resource administration was led by Dr.Kansinee Guntawongwan, Associate Dean. Both sessions encouraged participants to raise questions, share perspectives, and exchange constructive suggestions.
