On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized a workshop on “Excise Tax”, featuring guest speakers from the Chiangmai Area Excise Office, who shared their expertise with students at the Rit Sirimat Lifelong Learning Room, Building 3, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of Chiang Mai Province’s sources of revenue, including government allocations, local taxes, and subsidies. It also provided insights into various types of excise taxes and taxes collected by local administrative organizations, covering the processes of tax collection, assessment, and payment.
In addition, the speakers explained how tax revenues are utilized for local development and raised awareness of the importance of accurate tax payment, fostering civic responsibility and encouraging participation in sustainable social development.
This workshop reflects the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University’s ongoing commitment to promoting economic and tax literacy among students, helping to build a solid foundation for understanding the tax system and its role in overall local development.
