On Monday, 18 August 2025, from 09.00 to 10.30 hrs., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pithoon Thanabordeekij, Associate Dean, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony to pay homage to the royal portrait of His Majesty King Mongkut (King Rama IV) on the occasion of National Science Day. The ceremony took place at Room SCB 2100, 40th Anniversary Building, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University.
The event was organized to commemorate the royal benevolence of His Majesty King Mongkut, who has been graciously conferred the title of the “Father of Science in Thailand.” His Majesty laid the foundation for scientific and astronomical studies in the country and applied scientific knowledge to the advancement of Thai society and national development in line with global progress.
The participation of the Faculty of Economics in this ceremony reaffirms its commitment to honoring the royal legacy of Thai monarchs and underscores its recognition of the crucial role of science in social and economic development, which serves as a cornerstone for the creation and dissemination of knowledge for the benefit of society as a whole.
