Faculty of Economics Participates in “CMU Open House: Luk Chang On Tour by the Sea in Phuket”

On Monday, August 4, 2025, from 09:00 to 16:30 hrs., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, led by Dr. Mattana Wongsirikajorn, Assistant to the Dean, participated in the event “CMU Open House: Luk Chang On Tour by the Sea in Phuket” held at Mahogany Hall, Satree Phuket School, Phuket Province.

The event aimed to promote CMU’s academic programs and provide higher education guidance to high school students, guidance counselors, and parents from southern Thailand and nearby provinces. The Faculty of Economics hosted an exhibition booth to introduce its Bachelor of Economics program, offering information about the academic curriculum, student life at CMU, and career pathways after graduation.

One of the highlights was a session titled “Introducing CMU Programs: Learn, Play, and Practice,” in which Dr. Mattana delivered an engaging talk on the unique features of studying economics at CMU. She emphasized the active learning approach that provides students with hands-on experiences, fosters analytical thinking, and prepares them to become professional economists.

Another inspiring session, “CMU Talks: The (Not So) Secret Journey from the Sea to the Mountains,” featured Mr. Winy Wongsawattichart, an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics, who shared how his experiences at CMU shaped his confident transition into the professional world.

The event also included a popular segment, “CMU Talks: Stories from a Luk Chang,” presented by Mr. Phakphon Jaiya, a current student of the Faculty of Economics. He shared personal stories about university life at CMU, including academics, extracurricular activities, adapting to change, and opportunities for personal growth. His heartfelt story served as both a source of inspiration and a fresh perspective for high school students preparing to enter university life.

The Faculty’s participation in this event underscores its commitment to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening relationships with schools across the country, and opening doors to the world of economics for students from every region of Thailand.
