“Teachers Appreciation (Wai Kru)” Ceremony for Academic Year 2025

On Thursday 3 July 2025, from 09.00 to 12.00 hrs, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, held the annual  “Teachers Appreciation (Wai Khru)” Ceremony for Academic Year 2025 to express respect and appreciation for the invaluable contributions of educators. The event was graciously presided over by Dr. Kansinee Guntawongwan, Associate Dean of the Faculty, at the Wellness Lifelong Education Hall.

The ceremony began with the lighting of incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem, led by the presiding official. This was followed by a group prayer and a statement of the event’s objectives. Student representatives recited a traditional tribute to teachers and presented symbolic offerings—decorated trays and floral cones—to the faculty in unison.

On this special occasion, the President of the Faculty of Economics Student Union led fellow students in an oath of dedication, reflecting their commitment to learning and deep respect for their teachers. Associate Professor Dr. Rossarin Osathanunkul, Dean of the Faculty, then delivered an inspirational speech to both staff and students, offering encouragement for their academic journeys.

A formal rendition of the Royal Anthem, Sansern Phra Baramee, was performed with grace and dignity. To conclude the event, faculty members presented first-year students with ceremonial lanyards, symbolising their official welcome into the Faculty of Economics at Chiang Mai University. This moment was accompanied by heartfelt blessings from respected lecturers, marking a meaningful beginning to the students’ university life.

The atmosphere was warm, heartfelt, and full of significance—highlighting the strong bond between teachers and students and reaffirming the importance of upholding cherished traditions within the Chiang Mai University community.
