Econ CMUHosts Cybercrime Awareness Session: "Be Smart, Stay Safe"

On 25 June 2025, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organised an awareness-raising session titled “Be Smart, Stay Safe: Protecting Yourself from Technology-Driven Crime” at the Lifelong Learning for Well-being Meeting Room. The event was honoured by the presence of Pol. Sub Lt. Phattaranan Kampuan, inquiry officer from Phuping Rajanivej Provincial Police Station, who served as the guest speaker.

The session aimed to enhance awareness of various types of cybercrime impacting Thai society today—such as online scams, identity theft, and financial fraud—while also offering practical tips for digital safety and personal protection in an increasingly connected world.

The event drew active participation from faculty members, staff, and students, all of whom engaged in meaningful discussions and gained valuable insights into recognising and responding to cyber threats.

This initiative reflects the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to promoting digital literacy and equipping its academic community with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the digital age safely and responsibly.
