On Wednesday, 25 June 2025, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, hosted a special lecture on "QS World University Rankings" by Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Leksawasdi, Director of the Office of Research Administration (ORA). The session, held at Room ECB3308, offered valuable insights and practical guidance to faculty members and staff.
The lecture aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of academic data selection for the QS World University Rankings. It also introduced the use of SDG keyphrases for naming and writing academic articles aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key reference tools included SciVal and SCImago Journal and Country Rank (SJR), providing a framework to connect research output with international benchmarking.
This initiative supports the Faculty’s Performance Assessment (PA) targets—particularly the indicator concerning the number of Scopus-indexed publications aligned with SDGs. The lecture offered a strategic opportunity to enhance research quality and policy relevance, positioning the Faculty’s scholarship within a global context.
The session was marked by active engagement and strong interest from participants, reflecting the Faculty of Economics’ ongoing commitment to research excellence, sustainability, and international academic impact.
