Hosts Postgraduate Orientation for Academic Year 2025

On 21 June 2025, from 08:30 to 16:30, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, hosted its Postgraduate Orientation for the 2025 academic year at the Center for Excellence in Economics: CHUCHART PETAUMPAI. The orientation aimed to fully equip incoming master’s and doctoral students for academic success, personal growth, and meaningful engagement with postgraduate-level learning.

The event was honoured by Assistant Professor Dr. Tatcha Sudtasan, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, who warmly welcomed the new students, introduced the faculty’s executive team, and offered words of inspiration as they embarked on their academic journey.

The orientation was organised into two main groups:

Group 1: Master’s Degree Students (Regular and Special Programmes) – ECB 3202

Morning Session:
Programme coordinators introduced the curriculum structure and faculty members, while students were also guided through the faculty’s digital learning platforms.

Afternoon Session:
The “Pre-Class Preparation Programme” focused on enhancing essential skills such as learning strategies, planning, and adaptation—providing students with a strong foundation for postgraduate success.

Group 2: International Programme Students (Master’s and Doctoral) – ECB 3201, ECB 3203, and Online

Morning Session:
The session opened with a presentation on the VISA Checklist by Ms. Kulcharee Kritsadathikarnkul, International Relations Officer from the Research Administration, Academic Service, and International Relations Affairs. This was followed by an overview of the programme structure and registration process by the respective coordinators.

Afternoon Session:
International students joined the Pre-Class Preparation Programme alongside their Thai programme peers—encouraging cross-cultural exchange, shared perspectives, and academic collaboration within an international learning environment.

This orientation not only marked the beginning of each student’s academic journey but also reflected the Faculty of Economics’ strong commitment to holistic student support. By fostering confidence, belonging, and academic readiness, the faculty ensures that every postgraduate student is well-prepared to thrive both personally and professionally.
