Parent Meeting for New Undergraduate Students, Academic Year 2025
On Friday, 13 June 2025, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organised a meeting for parents of new undergraduate students for the academic year 2025. The aim was to foster mutual understanding between the Faculty and parents regarding the academic system, student support services, and holistic development activities throughout the course of study. The event was held at the “Peaceful Lifelong Learning” conference room and was also broadcast live via online platforms.
The meeting was honoured by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Rossarin Osathanunkul, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, who warmly welcomed the parents and presented information on the Faculty’s administrative structure, vision, mission, and role in producing graduates who are competent, ethical, and socially responsible citizens.
The session continued with the introduction of academic staff who will serve as advisers for first-year students — key individuals providing close academic guidance and support throughout their studies.
Assistant Professor Dr. Tatcha Sudtasan, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, delivered a presentation on key aspects of the curriculum, including course structure, learning approaches, and assessment methods, with the goal of equipping students for success in the digital economy era.
This was followed by a talk by Dr. Saowaluk Duangin, Assistant Dean for Student Development, who shared information on student scholarships, welfare services, and a variety of developmental activities — covering academic enhancement, life skills development, and ethics.
The meeting also featured an introduction of the 2025 Executive Committee of the Faculty of Economics Student Union, led by the President of the Student Union, who presented an overview of welcoming activities designed to create a warm, friendly atmosphere and promote unity within the Faculty.
In the final part of the meeting, parents had the opportunity to raise questions and engage in meaningful dialogue with academic advisers, in order to collaboratively develop effective and systematic approaches to supporting students throughout their university journey at the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University.
This meeting reflected the Faculty's strong commitment to working collaboratively with parents to fully support and enhance students’ potential — laying a solid foundation for a meaningful, enriching, and happy university experience.
