The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized the "Economics Social Responsibility: 5th Edition" project from April 3–6, 2025, at Mae Khong Village, Na Kian Subdistrict, Omkoi District, Chiang Mai Province. The project aimed to promote social responsibility and enhance the quality of life for people in remote areas.
A key activity of the project was the construction of a cement-soil weir to support water storage for consumption and daily use within the Mae Khong community. This sustainable water resource development is designed to effectively meet the community’s basic needs.
The project was made possible through collaboration between the Faculty of Economics, the Mae Khong villagers, teachers from Mae Khong School, and the Na Kian Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Omkoi District, Chiang Mai Province, with strong support and participation from all involved parties.
The Faculty of Economics hopes that this initiative will foster a deeper sense of social responsibility among students and further strengthen sustainable relationships between the university and local communities.
