Happy Family: Creating Value-Adding Spaces and Sustainable Income Generation

On Wednesday, December 18, 2027, from 08:30 to 16:00, the Faculty of Economics at Chiang Mai University, under the ECONCMU Happy Workplace initiative, organized a lecture and workshop titled “Happy Family: Creating Value-Adding Spaces and Sustainable Income Generation” at My Garden Orange Grove and Mae Ki Sheep Farm, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province.

The event featured lectures on managing orange orchards and techniques for processing produce to enhance value and sustainable income. Participants had the opportunity to visit the orange grove, harvest oranges, and process them into various products. In the afternoon, they engaged in lectures and hands-on activities, such as bathing the sheep, to promote supplementary income-generating activities alongside regular work, such as selling processed oranges. This initiative supports family-oriented creative activities and reduces living expenses.

The program aims to empower faculty members with knowledge on managing orchards and utilizing land effectively, while fostering agricultural awareness based on the principles of sufficiency economy. It encourages participants to apply this knowledge for sustainable livelihoods after retirement.
