On September 21, 2024, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organized a workshop aimed at developing graduate students' skills in using economic tools under the theme "2024 Econometric Coding Workshop." The workshop was led by Associate Professor Dr. Worapon Yamaka, Deputy Head of the Center of Excellence in Econometrics, and was held in room ECB 2501 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The training session focused on enhancing skills in using R and Stata, essential tools for economic data analysis. Special emphasis was placed on the analysis of time-series data and panel data, crucial for both basic and advanced econometric modeling. Participants had the opportunity for hands-on practice with these programs, enabling them to efficiently analyze and interpret complex data.
The workshop also provided students with opportunities to receive personalized consultation from the speaker, working collaboratively in groups to foster a comprehensive understanding of the tools and their practical application.
This workshop is one of the many initiatives by the Faculty of Economics to meet the growing need for graduate students to develop their skills in utilizing economic tools, preparing them to tackle more advanced economic challenges.
