On August 4, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM, the Faculty of Economics at Chiang Mai University organized a practical workshop on excise taxes. The primary objective of this workshop was to provide students and staff with knowledge and understanding of tax collection, as well as to emphasize the importance of participating in proper tax payment. This is a crucial mechanism for driving society towards achieving the goals set forth by Chiang Mai University. The event took place at the Lifelong Learning for Well-being Conference Room.
The workshop covered various aspects, including enhancing knowledge about the sources of revenue for Chiang Mai Province, such as government allocations, local taxes, and subsidies. It also focused on helping participants understand different types of excise taxes, including those collected locally, from the tax collection process and assessment to accurate tax payment.
Additionally, participants learned about the utilization of tax revenue in the development of Chiang Mai's areas, providing important insights into the role of responsible citizens who contribute to societal development through proper and consistent tax payments.
This initiative represents a significant step in fostering responsibility and awareness about taxes, which will contribute to sustainable social development in the future.
