Abstract:

This research was conducted to figure out elderly customer’s behaviors and analyze influential factors on using online-banking, in Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province. Data were collected, using research tools to review 400 participants (over 50 years old: elderly). Frequency distribution, percentage, average and binary choice model were applied for statistical analysis. The key findings pointed out that main users are female, ranging between 50 – 55 years of age, married, graduated (bachelor degree), retired, salary ranging between 30,001-40,000 baht. Forecast Model Development revealed that influential factors on customer’s behaviors using online-banking were user’s skill; they would usually continue use if they know how to use/ and pleased to use. Also, they would tell more others to use online-banking. In Contrast, elderly who were retired (ranging over 60 years of age), graduated (at least bachelor degree), would likely not tell others to use online-banking. Due to their physical fitness were not supporting; less abilities, there could be less users on online-banking. Thus, this is important to develop appropriate tools to meet their wants, especially; convenience, safety system for ensuring elderly users, etc.
