This paper aims to examine the workers’ perception of decision Making on moving the work into the Republic of Korea form Northern Region Industrial Estate in Lamphun; and to analyse factors affecting the decision on moving to work in the Republic of Korea of workers from Northern Region Industrial Estate in Lamphun. The primary data was gathered from 400 samples of workers in Northern Region Industrial Estate in Lamphun by using questionnaires. This study uses Multinomial Logistics Regression to identify the factors influencing the workers’ perception of decision making on moving to work in the Republic of Korea.
Considering the factors influencing decision making on labor mobility comparing between the workers who were definitely sure to move for working in Republic of Korea and those who unsure, the results shown that personal factors, which include single-status workers and workers who working in manufacturing positions positively related to workers’ decision making. Regrading the driving factors, the study found that domestic unemployment and income are not sufficient for spending are the important factors positively related to decision making of the workers. According to the attraction factors, working in the Republic of Korea gives move opportunity to develop skills, experiences and talents than workings in Thailand positively affects the workers’ decision making. The presence of relatives or friends living in the Republic of Korea is positively related to the decision of workers. While throwing away the opportunity to advance jobs in Thailand has a negative impact on decision making of the workers.
Moreover, comparing between the workers who were certainly sure to settle in Thailand and those who unsure, the factors positively affecting their decision making on labor mobility to Republic of Korea are age and working in the Republic of Korea, give more chance to them more to develop skills, experience and talents compared to working in Thailand.
