The purposes of this independent study are to assess the financial literacy competencies of bank customers, to study the relationship between individual factors and financial literacy competencies, to analyze the results of the levels of financial literacy competencies and individual factors affecting saving type selection. Therefore the study can provide more suggestions relates to the financial products of the bank to customers, Also, to create better financial decision-making and financial health to customers . This research is conducted the financial literacy competency survey in 2016. The questionnaires are conformed with the standard set of financial knowledge questionnaires for the survey of customers. The questionnaire’s design is based on OECD (2011) and the Bank of Thailand (2016), in which the questions and calculation are adjusted from 2010. Then, the data are analyzed in order to assess the overall financial literacy competencies by using statistic program. The relationship between individual factors and financial literacy competencies are analyzed by using the multiple linear regression model. The results of the levels of financial literacy competencies and individual factors affecting saving type selection are analyzed by using logistic regression model.
The findings revealed that most customers choose to save in the savings account. The level of their financial literacy competencies is high. Their financial behaviors and attitudes are high. Their financial knowledge is moderate. According to the analysis, the individual factor relating to the scores of financial literacy competence is the occupation. The scores of financial literacy competencies affecting to the saving selections are financial knowledge score and financial behavior score. The individual factors affecting to the saving selections are age, occupation as an entrepreneur, and monthly income.
