This study aimed to investigate factors that affect organizational engagement of the employees of a commercial bank in Chiang Mai province, Thailand. The sample of 60 employees were from United Overseas Bank (UOB). The questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. Descriptive statistics used for data analysis include percentage and average. Inferential statistics, such as Independent Sample t-test, One-way ANOVA, Sheffe test, and Pearson correlation coefficient, were used for hypothesis testing at the significance level of 0.05. Likert scale was utilized to weigh the importance of organizational engagement causative factors.
The results indicated that 41.67 percent of the subjects of this study were aged 20-30 years, 78.33 percent had undergraduate degree , 46.67 percent had 3-10 years of work experience , 55.00 percent had a monthly salary in excess of 30,000 baht, 26.67 percent were employees under level of Officer 3 , 20.00 percent worked at the Huay Kaew Branch in Chiang Mai.
The study found that the level of organizational engagement was high, personal factors that affected overall organizational engagement factors include the age of the employee, the period of operation and the position at the 0.05 level of statistical significance. However, educational level salary, and branch had no effect on organizational engagement. Also, the nature of work, work experience, environmental factors and economic factors are correlated with organizational engagement in every dimension.
